We have an existential problem

While serving as district office manager for then-Representative Greg Rothman, I saw first-hand how much good state government can do for people - and how desperately we need it to do better.

Our General Assembly is decadent, indolent, and opaque. We have the third highest-paid legislature in the nation – simultaneously, it is one of the least productive and least transparent.

Meanwhile, many of us are really struggling. I don’t know about you, but I for one cannot afford for things to continue this way. I’m a hard-working 32-year-old college-educated professional, but I can’t afford rent, let alone a home. I can’t afford health insurance - if not for state assistance, I couldn’t see a doctor. Any problem with my car is a financial crisis. I can’t afford to eat out or pursue hobbies. I can’t afford an engagement ring.

The standard of living we are being conditioned to accept is absolutely intolerable, and for the majority of us, there are no clear, attainable paths to secure a good life. At a time when so many of us struggle to thrive, PA lawmakers have never had it better and are answering to no one.

We require better.

We need dutiful lawmakers who are in-touch, humble, accessible, honest, and relentlessly committed to solving real problems facing everyday Pennsylvanians. We need them to fight corruption and corporate greed. These are not ideals, but necessary responsibilities.

To that end, I am running for Pennsylvania’s 34th Senate District to be the change we require. If you too demand more from your government, please make your voice known by lending me your support. With your help, we can restore servant-leadership our Commonwealth.
